TRAINING PHASE

Step into all that you are made for.

Our Discipleship Training School (DTS) is a six-month intensive program for you to go deeper with God and use your life to make a difference in society. DTS will reveal the opportunities all around you for you to bring the Kingdom of God where it’s not yet.

Your responsibility in DTS is to meet with the living God. For the first three months, you will engage in lectures and small groups, seek God in worship and prayer, and be equipped to share the Gospel with people wherever you go. Every element of the school is designed to create a space for you to seek God and step into the reality of who He has made you to be.

What WILL I LEARN IN TRAining phase?

In the training phase of DTS, you will engage in 14 hours of teaching each week.  The topics you may learn about are:

  1. Hearing God’s Voice
  2. Character & Nature of God
  3. The Holy Spirit
  4. Relationships
  5. Bible Overview
  6. Missions
  7. Identity
  8. Biblical World View
  9. Spiritual Warfare
  10. Servant Leadership
  11. Evangelism
What does a week in DTS look like?

A week in DTS is packed full of learning, fun, and serving. You will spend time hearing from various speakers, learning more of who God is.

You will also take part in small groups and have intentional time with your staff each week to process what you are learning. Throughout the week our campus community gathers for prayer and worship as well as Thursday Community Night, when we welcome our community into a night of teaching and worship.

As a school you will also have the opportunity to go into Waikiki and the surrounding communities for evangelism and outreach. Our desire is that as you learn about God you also get to take his Kingdom into the island.

OUTREACH PHASE

You have a role to play in bringing the Kingdom of God to every nation.

The second three months of your DTS will be spent on outreach with the purpose of making God known to those you encounter. YWAM Honolulu typically sends teams to countries in Asia and the Pacific. This looks different in each location, however ministry often includes teaching English, taking care of widows and orphans, serving local churches and businesses, all while preaching the Gospel, healing the sick, and bringing the reality of the Kingdom of God.

Come embrace your identity as a child of God and fulfill your calling to eternally change lives around you.
