Since its beginning in 1980 YWAM Honolulu has pioneered many works all over the globe.
Our original name was actually Pioneer Ministries. YWAM Honolulu has an international reputation as a base that sends out many long-term workers, who we call our Frontliners. As early as 1982 we started sending out Frontliners who in turn planted new YWAM bases, ministries, and churches overseas.
Since then YWAM Honolulu Frontliners have started churches, minstries, and bases that continue on today in nations like India, the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Krgystan, and many others. Many of these have gone to start further works of their own! For example, in India, the works we started in Calcutta, Madras, Delhi, and Bangalore have multiplied into approximately 130 locations with over 1200 staff. Nepal itself has over 130 staff now.
All of this is not to our glory or credit. It is a testimony that when ordinary people obey the call of God to go into all the world and preach the Gospel, Jesus is with them and His kingdom is established.
